Otis Gowdy

Dr. Otis Gowdy, Jr. is a 1995 graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana. He received his medical degreemfrom the University of South Alabama in 1999. He completed his residency training in internal medicine
and nephrology fellowship from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2002 and in 2005 respectively. Dr. Gowdy received his M.B.A. from Auburn University in 2012. He is the current Mississippi Governor of the American College of Physicians with over 900 members of doctors, residents and students. He is a member of the National Medical Association, the American Medical Association
and the American Society of Nephrology. He has served on the Mississippi Nephrology Task Force, contributing to policy and procedures for the state. He has also served on the medical advisory board for Fresenius Medical Care, which is a leading international dialysis company. He resides in Meridian,
MS where he practices nephrology and internal medicine at the Internal Medicine Clinic and serves on the executive committee for the clinic. He is a former Chief of Staff at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian. Currently, Dr. Gowdy serves as a city planning commissioner and is the current president of the Advisory Board at the Mississippi Children’s Museum Meridian. He is involved in community development and historic preservation. Dr. Gowdy is a member of Zion Hill C.M.E. Church in Sandflat, MS where he serves as the president of the trustees and is active in Sunday School. He is the proud father of two children.
